About The Ugly Cupcake Muffinry

The Start of the Muffinry

"Everyone knows that Muffins are just ugly cupcakes"

This is the phrase, uttered by young Rowan, that created an inspirational spark in the family. The spark was fanned as Chef Wolf and her, at the time, children, arranged for a booth at the Jarboe Park Green Market, which featured huge homemade muffins using extremely high quality ingredients.  The booth became a regular feature at the weekly market.  Over almost two years, the now named Ugly Cupcake Muffins grew a bit of a following and was featuring a circulation of over 100 flavors.

As the children headed into high school, they felt that it was time to further develop into a full fledged cafe.  Mom ran with idea, and with the love, support, and help of the kids (and her husband), The Ugly Cupcake Muffinry & Cafe opened it's first brick & mortar in the fall of 2015.  Featuring the amazing muffins, now circulating almost 300 flavors, a full and unique breakfast and lunch menu, and amazing coffee, the cafe has flourished as a part of the Jacksonville Beaches communities.

The kids, now young adults, continue to be a large part of the business.  You can often find them working along side of their mom on the weekends, doing everything from kitchen and barista work to the behind-the-scenes running of the business itself.

A true family business, The Ugly Cupcake Muffinry & Cafe continues to strive to present unique food, a beautiful setting, happy staff, and of course, amazing muffins.
